moving to Central Florida?
lucky you.

Outside Florida, this part of the state is probably best known for its roller coasters and a certain talking mouse. But the inside view is vastly more interesting. Central Florida is a place where the best parts of urban life — great food, music and art — come together with nature at its most stunningly beautiful. And of course in Sunbridge, we’re taking the nature thing to a whole new level.

it’s good to be Central

Being in the middle of Florida makes it easier to get to all the rest of Florida.

local eats

If you’re someone who tracks which cities have the best foodie scene, you’ve probably noticed that Orlando has been sneaking onto some well-respected lists from sources like Wine Enthusiast, WalletHub and the New York Times. With so many different cultures represented here in Orlando, you’ll find the fare you expect from Mexico, China, Thailand, Italy and so forth. But you can also explore flavors from places like Turkey, Africa, Poland, Spain, Greek, even Laos.

A little culture

Actually, make that a lot of culture. No matter which arts you’re a lover of, there’s a multitude of options for you. Catch a broadway show, opera or famous comedian at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Support local theatre at Osceola Center for the Arts or Orlando Shakes. Be captivated by the stunning performances of the Orlando Ballet. Or hone your own artistic skills with theater, music and dance classes (for adults and kids!) at the Central Florida Community Arts. Prefer paintings? The Orlando Museum of Art has an impressive permanent collection, along with exciting visiting exhibitions. And for those who lean more towards the sciences than the arts, the Orlando Science Center is a don’t-miss.

game on

Orlando has three arenas and stadiums that serve as home to world-class athletics. Head to the Amway Center to cheer on the NBA’s Orlando Magic and the Orlando Solar Bears hockey team. Or take in a football game at the Camping World Center, which hosts the Citrus Bowl, Cheez-it Bowl and Russel Athletic Bowl. Soccer fans unite, at Exploria Stadium. And for just about every other sport, pros and amateurs find themselves spending a lot of time at the 200-acre ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex—featuring over 170 events for everything from cheerleading to baseball to lacrosse—or at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona.

Orlando is a major travel hub with three airports: Orlando International Airport, Orlando Executive Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport; access to cruise lines at Port Canaveral; Brightline (Which will have future access to West Palm Beach, Miami and later Tampa); and SunRail—an intercity commuter rail service. In other words, wherever you want to go, it’s easy to get there. Making for very happy travels.

pick a beach, any beach

So. Much. Sand. There are five beaches within 60 miles of Orlando, so you can pick your piece of paradise. From the surf breaks of Cocoa Beach to the energetic boardwalk of Daytona Beach to the more serene surroundings of Ponce Inlet or New Smyrna Beach, fabulous water awaits.

amusement parks

For much of the world, this is what Orlando is known for. And considering the sheer number of world-class theme parks (that would be nine, by the way), it only makes sense. So whether you’re into thrilling roller coasters, exotic animals or a certain animated mouse, Orlando has you covered. You don’t even have to wish upon a star.

large-scale nature

Florida is known for its nature … crystal-blue water has a way of making an impression. And there are plenty of places nearby to help you enjoy it to its fullest. Tibet-Butler Preserve has several miles of boardwalks and lookouts (keep your eye out for tortoises and other animal friends). Blue Spring State Park is a manatee refuge from November–March, and the perfect canoeing-kayaking-swimming spot in the summer months. Wekiwa Springs State Park has been a popular destination since the early 19th century—paddle out into its emerald waters, or take a stroll (or horseback ride) on its 13 miles of trails, and you’ll quickly see why. For even bigger nature, Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area is nothing short of incredible—whether you’re an avid hiker or aspiring photographer.

no snow … or state taxes

Aaaah, doesn’t that feel nice? There’s nothing quite like a warm sun in the middle of January. Unless it’s a more palatable tax return in the middle of April. No wonder Orlando is a perennial favorite for people who are ready to say goodbye to the workaday world and hello to your bright, sunny next chapter.

best in class health care

Orlando complements its abundance of healthy outdoor activity with an exceptional level of medical care. The AdventHealth system and Orlando Regional Medical Center are consistently top-ranked in Florida. The Orlando VA Medical Center in Lake Nona is considered one of the country’s finest facilities for veteran healthcare. And even the smallest patients get big-time care. AdventHealth for Children, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Nemours Children’s Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies are all nationally renowned for their respective areas of expertise. In other words, the entire family is in good hands.
