Sunbridge Homebuilders Offer Sustainable Upgrades for Eco-Friendly Living

Sustainability has become a top priority for many homebuyers, and the homebuilders at Sunbridge have gone above and beyond by offering a range of eco-friendly features and upgrades to homes in the community. These upgrades not only reduce the impact on the environment, but also offer a host of benefits for residents.

An attainable approach to eco-friendly living was built into Sunbridge’s DNA from the start – setting out to create homes in harmony with nature. The Sunbridge design team partnered with a team of sustainability partners to develop home-building strategies to do just that. Now, with the help of the community’s homebuilders — including Ashton Woods, David Weekley Homes, Craft Homes, Pulte Homes, and Toll Brothers — Sunbridge is making it easy to select these readily-available upgrades.

Before homes are outfitted with the latest in sustainable technology, Sunbridge’s builders take care to utilize eco-friendly materials as much as possible. For example, they offer the option to install radiant barrier roof decking, which reduces heat absorption from the powerful Florida sun and improves HVAC efficiency at the same time. James Hardie siding, made from up to 50% recycled materials, offers homeowners enhanced design and construction (including mold resistance and best-in-class durability), but also improves energy efficiency.

One of the most popular technological eco-friendly features available in Sunbridge is solar power adoption using a standard 4.25kw rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system. These panels reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and lower energy bills for homeowners and come standard on homes in the Weslyn Park neighborhood.

Complementary to the adoption of solar is energy conservation and efficiency; homes in Sunbridge have several available features to reduce their energy consumption. A few favorites are the installation of high-efficiency HVAC systems, programmable thermostats, and low-emissivity windows which have a special coating that reflects infrared light and keeps heat inside during the winter and outside in the hot Florida summer. Beyond temperature control, homeowners can also opt for the installation of energy-efficient, ENERGY STAR qualified appliances. The appliances use less energy and water than traditional models, reducing both energy bills and the home’s carbon footprint, it’s a win-win! For the members of our community taking their energy conservation efforts on the road, Sunbridge homes also come with the option to install electric vehicle charging stations in the garage.

These eco-friendly upgrades offered by the homebuilders at Sunbridge provide a range of benefits for both homeowners and the environment. By reducing energy and water usage, improving efficiency, and promoting overall sustainability, these builder upgrades help residents live a more eco-conscious lifestyle and raise the bar for eco-conscious living in Florida.
